Home Sweet Home.

We were in my native for the past 10 days, for my Father-in-law’s 2nd death-anniversary prayer service. Hubby was back on the same day, we stayed back for a week, so that we can go and visit my grandmother, my dad’s side one. Actually no one there has seen Jason and this was our chance to go there. The place called Nilambur is almost at the other end of Kerala, and I don’t know the way. So since my parents were there in Kerala ( they were there to check on the house they are building), we went along with them. The journey was tiring, with the climate so hot and humid. We had to change two trains. After reaching that place we had a good time, with all my cousins ( some of them whom I have not seen for 7-8 years) turning up to see Jason. Well he was the star there. And he did have fun with so many big brothers and sisters to play with.

My only disappointment was that everyone kept complaining that Jason is very thin, and that I am not feeding him properly. I got fed up of everyone comparing Jason and Abel ( my another cousins son, 2.8 years old). I used to call up hubby and literally cry about it. And he would scold me, saying that Jason is healthy and active, so we don’t have to worry about anything.

Well now we are back in Chennai, and I love it here. My house, my family, my life with the two people I love and care for the most. Its such a relief to be back home. Now a days, I just don’t like staying anywhere for more than 3-4 days. I would be dying to come back home, specially if hubby is at home all alone. Now all I have to do is clean up the hurricane hit house of mine :)

Meanwhile Jason has been growing up and sticking to the "Terrible Twos" term. He is naughty, stubborn and wont listen to me at all. Its like he was holding all this unwanted qualities and it all just erupted as soon as he turned two. So it’s a little tough with him.

Just yesterday, there was loads and loads of clothes to folded and kept at its respective places. And somehow I finished it. Just left the room for a minute. And what do I see? All the clothes scattered on the floor. Grrrrr..

But my son does some cute stuff also. Like in kerala, Abel was searching for is Amma (Mom), so Jason points at me and says "Amma amma...", as in ‘look there is amma, don’t worry’. It made me very happy cos, he does not call me Amma/Mummy/Mamma, he calls me by my name.

There are many more episodes like this I want to write about. Would collect it and post it next time. This one is long enough to bore you guys.

So as always, leaving you with some snaps...

That’s Abel with Jason.

With cousins at my Mom’s side.

Cousins from Dad’s side. Its too hot to wear clothes :)

At home, clutching papa’s bible and praying. May be for a cheese rain. He is that crazy about cheese. The other day we were at the super market, he saw the box of cheese cubes, opened up the box and started eating one.
Don’t they know how to embarrass their mothers :o

Why do we fall sick..

And its worst if everyone in the family joins in. I take the lead this time, with my sinus acting up and a very painful throat infection as a bonus. After 3-4 days of sedative antibiotics and painkillers I though the worst was over. But it was just round the corner. My baby fell sick.

It started with slight fever, which within a couple of days became a high fever, with diarrhea, cold and cough. For whole 10 days he did not eat anything solid. Just little milk or water. We were really worried and scared for him. We even asked the doc to admit him and give him drips as he was very weak. But the doc was cool about it and kept on say he will fine within a week, and he would start eating then. He weighed 11.6 kgs and was 89 cm tall (actually he should be 12kg, and 84 cm tall), luckily he did not loose much when we took him last time. That was a relief. Did some test, and every thing looked normal, except his Hb count, 10 which actually should be between 13-17 for boys. Have to take him for check up once again today. He is quite Ok now, and is also active and jumping around. Just have to make him eat, and get him back to being a little chubby.

While my baby was sick, his dad decided to join him with his tonsils giving him trouble and being down with fever for a couple of days. Actually when I think of it now, in the past 3-4 weeks, I have taken myself, Jason, hubby and my Mil to the hospital. Phew!! Yes, my Mil too was not well due to cough, and breathing issues.

So in short it was a sick month. So sick that on my birthday (while everyone celebrated Women's day) I cried. Not for turning thirty but for Jason being so sick that be didn't even have the energy to cry. Seeing my baby like that was the worst thing to happen on my birthday. And to top it all we had a prayer meeting consisting of 70-80 families scheduled on the 8th. Since this was planned a month ago we could not cancel it. So amidst all this sickness and problems we had to make preparations for the prayer meeting. The chairs, food and all were ordered in. Had the maid clean up the house and somehow managed to get everything done.

The though which hit me on that night was, being my birthday, I was not happy even for a single minute other than when Jason said "Appy Bood (Happy bday)" and kissed me. I cried that night cos, we made sure everyone had to their stomach full, while I could not make my son eat a single morsel of food...

I know sad-ending post sucks... so here is to lighten up every one's mood.

Presenting My son, according to whom sitting on the floor is so low!!!

So he finds a perfect place to sit, in the dining room cupboard..

On not one but on top of seven chairs.. wow... what a view !!
This pic was taken a day after the prayer meeting. He wants to smile for the camera but does not have the strength to.

The coffee table is the best place to take a nap...isn't it?

On the basket, which acts as the stepping stone to...

The dressing table...Muah!!!!!

p.s: My Mil is gone to kerala so I am all alone with Jason and hubby. Lets see how it turns out. I BTW have post some of Jason's birthday pics here.
